"P" Week

Since Keagan has really started showing an interest in letters, I decided I would spend one week on each letter doing activities with that letter. "P" was the first letter he was able to identify. I had a lot of ideas for the letter "p" so that is the letter we worked on during the week of Spring Break. He is able to identify several letters, now we are working on learning words that start with that letter. We did not do a letter this week, because it has been a long week getting back in the routine after Sprink Break. Hopefully we will work on another letter next week.

He colored the "P" with polka dots using pink and purple. He made two-one for Potsey and one for PaPa.

I took him to the park to play.

We had a picnic at the park.
ate pizza and purple yogurt

Jump N Jungle

Yesterday we took Keagan to Jump N Jungle. It is a warehouse type building with a bunch of air bouncers (don't know what to really call them). This is where he is going to have his birthday party. He saw pictures on the internet and has jumped on things like that before, but I wanted to make sure he was going to like it. On Wednesdays from 10:00-12:00 kids 6 and under can play. I can't take him on Wednesdays because I am at school so we went yesterday. Because of Spring Break, any age could go yesterday. When we first got there, he was a little hesitant and wasn't sure about playing. Once I got him to try one of the bouncers, he played non-stop for 1 1/2 hours. The only reason he stopped was so we could eat lunch and go see Cecil's grandma at the hospital. Adults are allowed to play on certain bouncers if they have on socks. I just walked around to each bouncer and had to help him get on some of them because he legs weren't quite long enough. When we left he was very tired. He had a lot of fun and can't wait to go back.

He did really well climbing because most of them were like his rockwall.

Krispy Kreme

When we go to Abilene, Keagan and my dad get up on Saturday morning and go get doughnuts for everybody. Keagan has really started liking doughnuts, but doesn't usually get to have one unless we are in Abilene because we live in the country and there is not a doughnut store close to us. Saturday night we left the grocery store and decided we would get some doughnuts to take to Sunday School. Keagan had never been in Krispy Kreme. He really enjoyed watching the doughnuts being made.

watching them rise

he loved when the doughnuts flipped over to cook the other side
getting the icing

The best part of all-a hot fresh doughnut.
I was very excited this morning because Keagan slept until 8:30! This is late for him. He is usually up by 7:00 even on the weekends. I am hoping this is a good sign that I will be able to sleep later than usual this week.

So Smart

A few weeks ago Keagan and I were doing a puzzle that has the ABC's. I would show him a letter and tell him, "That is a H for Heather. P for PaPa., etc." After doing this for a while, I would ask him, "Where is the A for Audrey?" He did really well finding them. The letters he knows the best are K, A, J, H, N, G. We bought him a toy at Wal-Mart that has the alphabet on it. There are several different games you play on it. His counting has gotten a lot better too since playing with this toy. He can count to 10 most of the time. He still leaves out 4 sometimes though.

Here is is playing the game.
Hopefully I will have some more pictures to post later in the week since I am on Spring Break. I am hoping to take Keagan to do some things I can't normally do with him when I am at school.

The Weather

The weather has be absolutely gorgeouse a few days last week and so far this week (of course the weekend was cool and windy). I have had to remind my kids at school when we do the weather during circle time it is still winter and not usually this warm. After I pick Keagan up, we have been coming home and going outside to play. He has also been helping me water the grass.

Today he wanted to blow bubbles.

He does pretty good. I just have to remind him sometimes to not blow so hard.

Going up the rock wall.

Wanting to do the monkey bars. He told me I have to hold his legs, because that is how Nana does it. If Nana does it, that is how it has to be.

Our dog Cooper was in the house so I didn't have to catch him when he came down. Cooper likes to play with Keagan and tries to get him when he comes down. Our other dog Valentine just chases her tail.

Just had to throw this one in because it is a cute picture. Sunday after church we went to eat with Cecil's family for his aunt's birthday. Keagan was really tired on the way home becaue it was way past his nap time. Cecil had turned around to see if he had fallen asleep and he was sitting like this with his eyes closed. I got my camera out and went to take his picture and he opened his eyes and smiled at me.
