2 month update

Karter turned 2 months last Tuesday. I was waiting to do an update until I took him to his two month check-up. I took him a week late because I had VBS last week. Here are somethings about my 2-month old boy:
-weighs 13.2 pounds (73rd %) and is 24 inches long (76%)
-eats every 3 hours during the day
-has been going about 6 hours at night (hope I am not cursing myself!)
-sleeps well at night, but is not a good napper, I think I am going to start putting him on his
stomach because he sleeps really well that way even if the doctor says to put them on their
back
-still wears Size 1 diapers
-wears 0-3 month clothes
-his colic is much better, we have to be sure we have Gripe Water on hand
-smiles and coos all the time
-likes for me to touch him on the nose and make "buzz"sound, the other night he actually
laughed out loud when I did it
-absolutely hates to be burped, when I burp him half way through him eating he gets so mad,
the fastest way to get him to burp is to sit him on my leg and pat his back but he gets so mad
and stiffens out his legs and stands up which makes it very hard to burp him
-he is a very strong baby, holds his head up and loves to stand and sit up
-likes to swing, sit in boucy seat, and Bumbo seat

The day Karter turned 2 months old he sat in his Bumbo for the first time. Keagan didn't have one of these so I wasn't really sure when he was "suppose" to sit in it. I decided he can hold his head up very well, so I thought we would try it. Now if I can just keep Keagan out of it!

such a big boy

The day after he got 3 shots. The day he got them he slept all day. He would wake up to eat and then go right back to sleep.

In the mornings after he wakes up and eats, he likes to lay on our bed and look out the window. He lays there and laughs and talks to the window!

Sweet sleeping baby. I believe this is how he will be sleeping from now on.

VBS

This week we had vacation Bible school at church. We were on a "High Seas Expedition" all week. We had 33 4 & 5 year olds on Monday and the rest of the week we had 35 or 36 each day. That is the most kids in this age group we have ever had. This year was Keagan's first year to get to go to vbs. I was worried about how he would do because he would be in the 4 and 5 year old group that I was in charge of. I talked to about what he would get to do each day and he seemed really excited. On Monday he did great when we went to the sanctuary and sang. Then we went back to our room for the Bible story. After the story we divided into three groups. Keagan's group went with me first to Chadder's Theatre. When it was time for his group to go to games, he started to cry and say he wanted to stay with me. Mrs. Kinann got him and he was fine. I was not worried too much about him wanting to stay with me the whole time, I was more worried about how he would behave. The rest of the week he did very well-he just had to know where I was and what I was doing. I didn't get very many pictures. I couldn't leave my group of kids and take his picture doing different things, but I got a few. As you look at the pictures, see if you see notice anything common in most of the pictures???

On Thursday, the kids made a picture frame. I took all of their pictures and printed them.

Keagan and Audrey in "big church" getting ready to sing.

Keagan didn't get too much into singing and dancing. He like to watch the video. He picked up more of the songs than I thought. When he doesn't think anyone is listening or watching he would sing along.

Getting a tattoo from Mrs. Vickie.

Waiting to play a game.
Did you notice a little girl in almost every picture with Keagan? That is Audrey. She use to stay at Mrs. Cheryl's with Keagan and they were best buddies. Monday morning I was looking at the list of names of the kids who had pre-registered and saw her name. Keagan was so excited when she got there. I think Audrey had mutual feelings. Keagan could not keep his hands off of her. When we would have the Bible story, he would sit beside her and put his arm around her. When we went each day to sing in the sanctuary, he had to make sure he was sitting by her. One day at snack, Audrey had to use the restroom, so after she got up Keagan spread out his legs so no one would sit in her spot. Wednesday-Friday her cousin was there. On Wednesday during the Bible story Keagan of course had his arm on Audrey and her cousin scooted over by them and was trying to put his arm around her too. Keagan didn't like that! Mrs. Kinann had to tell Keagan he has to share Audrey. They were both very cute. I was very glad she was there and they got to play with each other again. I am hoping Audrey will go to pre-k and they will get to be in the same class.

Keagan's Award

Thursday was Keagan's last day of gymnastics at Ready Set Go for the spring. The parents were allowed to go out in the gym and watch and take pictures. My mom was here, so she went out and watched and took pictures of him. I stayed in the lobby and took care of Karter. At the end of the class each of the kids were given and award. Keagan got an award for having the best "seat drop, doggie drop, tummy". I told my mom his teacher was just being nice! When he is jumping on the trampoline he is wild. He doesn't stay in one spot and work on the skill she is trying to teach. He is usually bouncing from one end of the trampoline to the other. I do not expect him to be a fabulous tumbler, so as long as he is having fun that is all that matters. He started his summer classes on Tuesday. He was the only boy in his class on Tuesday. Hopefully another boy will join the class soon.

showing off his award with his award with a fake smile- I told him we couldn't go to Chick-Fil-A until he let me take his picture.
We have a very busy weekend and next week is VBS. This will be Keagan's first year to be old enough to go. He will be in the class I am working with. I am not sure if that will be a good thing or not. We will see I guess.
