Keagan pulled him around in this wagon for at least 5 minutes. Karter thought it was so funny.

Keagan

I am really behind on posting things Keagan has been doing. Here is an update on some of them.

We had a fundraiser at school. If you sold 30 or more items, you got to go on a limo ride to McDonalds. Keagan sold 31 so he got to go. My principal asked me if I wanted to go too. There were about 20 kids who went from Pre-K-4th grade.

running to the limo

The boy in the black jacket found an empty beer can under the seat on the way to McDonalds. We told the driver and he was not happy with the cleaning crew.

Houston and Keagan playing. Houston goes to our church and they are in the same class at school.

back at school

On Tuesdays after school, we have children's choir at church. The kids have to be in kindergarten to attend, but since I am a worker, Keagan gets to go. The first Sunday in December we had our Christmas program. Each week we have about 30 kinder and 1st graders, but on Sunday night we only had about half of them come. Keagan did not do much singing. He stood with his hands in his pockets acting shy.

Last Wednesday, Keagan had his Christmas program at school. On Tuesday, they had the dress rehearsal and he did not do much singing. My mom came to watch him. We told him if he would sing during the program, she would bring us lunch to school. He sang a little bit on Wendesday, but not a lot. I didn't get good pictures, so these will have to do.

Keagan is on the top row, 5th from the left in the red shirt. They all looked so cute in their elf hats.

Getting sticks and bells to play during one of the songs.
Friday we got out of school for the Christmas break. I was going back and forth between my class's party and Keagan's.

Saul really wanted the present under his chair.
Hopefully I can do a better job at posting pictures in a timely manner!!

Catch-up

I have so many things I could post on here, but just have not had the time. Most of the pictures I needed to post are on a memory card that I left at school. Here are a few that were on the card that was in my camera.

Our little giraffe. Karter didn't mind wearing his costume at all.

Keagan wanted to be Percy from Thomas the Train. In the past, he has always worn his costume. This year he did not like his costume. I don't know if it was not what he was expecting or what.

Costume parade at school. He only wore the costume because he wanted my mom to bring us Sonic for lunch.

Fall Festival at church. He wore his costume for about 2 minutes. He didn't want to play any games, but when I told him he could take the costume off he cheered right up and played the rest of the night.

Today Keagan had his first tumbling meet. Since school started he has been taking tumbling on Wednesday afternoons in the cafeteria. He really enjoys it because four kids that are in his class are school are also in his tumbling class. At the meet each kid did two tumbling passes. Almost all of the pictures I took today were blury. These were the best I got.

Patiently waiting his turn. There were about 15 kids in his group. He was the next to last kid to tumble. He did a great job sitting and waiting his turn.

Starting his second tumbling pass-he had already done a cartwheel and was now doing the spider walk.

Keagan got third place!

Cecil was able to come and watch before he had to go to the field. I guess there was just too much excitement for Karter to handle!
Hopefully it won't be so long before I post again.

6 & 7 months

On Monday, November 8th, Karter turned 7 months old. Since I never got a 6 month post written, I am just going to combine them together.

-at his 6 month check-up he was 16 lbs. 14 oz and 27 inches long
-wears size 3 diapers
-wears 6-9 month clothes, needs the 9 month for the length
-eats every 3 hours during the day
-sleeps pretty good at night, usually asleep between 8:00-8:30 and sleeps until about 6:30
-still doesn't have any teeth, we have thought he has been teething for months, but not teeth yet
-is eating fruits, vegetables, and cereal, so far he has liked everything I have fed him
-has been sitting up for a while
-had been trying to crawl for a while, but started doing it consistently on Monday
-can pull himself up on me if I am in the floor with him, has done it one time in his crib while I was standing there
-LOVES Keagan, he smiles and laughs all the time at him
-is much happier playing in the floor now that he can sit and crawl
-LOVES his pacifier, I am afraid I am going to have trouble taking it away from him when he is older

Keagan got in the crib with Karter this morning "to make sure he didn't fall out and bust his head open". Cecil will hopefully get the crib lowered tomorrow.

An Update

As usual I am behind on Karter's monthly post.
-not sure about his weight but he has is 6 month check-up a week from Friday
-continues to eat every 3 hours during the day
-still eating cereal at night, eating it much better
-has started vegetables, so far likes them all
-sleeping pretty good at night if we could just keep him from getting congested
-can sit up, we keep his boppy near by though
-LOVES to be held which is hard on the babysitter and me but we are working on it
-will be crawling soon, gets up on hands and knees and rocks, the other night he moved his legs but not his arms so his face hit the carpet
-I am sure I am forgetting some things, but hopefully will remember them and add to his 6 month post

showing off his sitting skills
Cecil had foot surgery again on September 17th. This time they fused some bones in the top of his foot and put in plate and put a screw in his big toe. We are hoping this surgery will allow him to walk without pain. He has been on crutches since he had his first surgery in December. I am so ready for him to be off of them. The doctor said it will be 6-8 weeks with no weight on his foot and then will be able to gradually add weight. I had still been giving Karter a bath in his baby tub because it was just easier. Since I am having to give both boys a bath by myself I decided to give them a bath together. Keagan loves taking a bath with Karter. I think Karter enjoys it too.
my sweet boys
Keagan is still liking school. He has gotten a paw print stamp everday so he is behaving. I love listening to the stories he tells me about the things he does. The other day I had taken my kids to the cafeteria and was on my way back to my room and his teacher stopped me. She said she had to tell me about something that happened-my first thought was Oh no what did he do. Sometimes they send the kids to the gym to use the restroom because the two pre-k classes share one boy and one girl bathroom. His teacher was coming back from somewhere and saw Keagan outside like he was going to the gym and he was messing with his pants. When she got outside she said Keagan what are you doing? He asked her to open the gym door. She said the sidewalk was wet by where he was standing. She asked him if he had gone to the bathroom on the sidewalk and he told her no. She asked him again and he said no he didn't but that another boy had. She opened the door for him and sent him to the bathroom. She talked to the other boy and he admitted he peed on the sidewalk and she asked if Keagan had. He told her no. He couldn't get the door open either so he just went on the sidewalk. I told his teacher at least she didn't have to send him to the nurse to get a change of clothes. I was also glad to know Keagan was telling her the truth about not going and about who really did it.
Hopefully I will do a better job of keeping this updated but not making any promises.

First Day of Pre-K

Today was Keagan's first day of Pre-K.

We started off the morning with cinnamon rolls. This is an adjustment Keagan is going to have to make. He doesn't like to eat breakfast when he first gets up.

Ready to go with what other than a tractor lunchbox and backpack.

Keag and Audrey
A couple of weeks ago I looked at Keagan's class list and saw that Kira and Landrie were going to be in his class. These were two of the girls that went to the babysitter with him. Then we found out Audrey was going to be in his class. Kira, Audrey and Keagan all stayed at Cheryl's at the same time. I warned his teacher about this!
He was excited this morning. I had one of our aides stay in my room as my kids were coming in this morning so I could take Keagan to his class and take a few pictures. When we walked in he was acting very shy. I think he was on the verge of tears so I tried to get out as quick as I could. I went over and talked to him at lunch and he said he was having a lot of fun. After lunch we were at recess and he came and sat with me for a little bit. I could tell he was tired. When the bell rang he walked from his class to mine all by himself. We got out at 1:30 but teachers had to stay until 3:30 so Cecil came and picked him up. Kira and Keagan are the flag holders this week. He said he holds the Texas flag and Kira holds the "States" flag. He got a paw print stamp at the end of the day because he was "good" today. He quickly informed me Audrey didn't get a stamp because she was throwing rocks on the playground. I don't know if that is true or not. He says he is going to eat in the cafeteria tomorrow for lunch. He will also have to nap/rest time tomorrow. They laid down for a little while today, but not as long as they usually will. I am glad he had a good day.

4 months old

I am two weeks late with this post but I guess it is better late than never. Time is going by so fast-my baby boy is 4 months old.
-at his 4 month check-up he weighed 15 pounds and was 24 1/2 inches long
-got two shots, began to cry as the nurse went to stick him with the second one and it was more of a "you hurt my feelings" cry than a hurt cry
-continues to eat every 3 hours during the day
-sleeping better at night, have tried really hard to get him in a routine at night and that has helped some, usually goes to bed around 9:00 and has been sleeping until 5:00 or after
-tries to hold his own bottle, doesn't do it everytime
-started cereal but not a big fan of it
-rolls from tummy to back and back to tummy
-drools all the time
-still loves to be talked to and watch people, doesn't want to be by himself
-went swimming for the first time, did not like to be splashed

my sweet boys

It's hard work on a baby to swim!

I guess he was thirsty.

trying cereal for the first time

Needed a little milk to wash down the cereal he didn't care for.

Getting ready for bed. A little girl who was in my class last year gave him these jammies. They are so cute.
We have a had a wild weekend. Karter was running fever Friday afternoon and all day Saturday. I think it was from teething. Saturday we were running some errands and Keagan said his stomach hurt. He got sick in the restaurant and didn't eat. He threw up all night long. I just kept thinking why is this happening when school starts on Monday. Karter has felt better today and Keagan has not gotten sick anymore today. I will post some pictures in the next few days of his first day of Pre-K. Still can't believe my little boy is big enough to start school.
